Decorreu em Espinho, nos dias 28, 29, 30 e 31 de Janeiro de 2010 o XI Congresso Português de Endocrinologia e a 61ª Reunião Anual da SPEDM.
A realização de um congresso anual de endocrinologia foi um objectivo cumprido, bastante participado, diversificado nos temas, e mantendo um bom nível científico
Foi uma afirmação da endocrinologia nacional permitindo a reunião dos endocrinologistas portugueses e também de colegas de outras especialidades com os quais temos em comum o tratamento das doenças endócrinas.
Permitiu também a apresentação do trabalho científico e assistencial desenvolvido nos serviços de endocrinologia e a discussão em simpósia e conferências da patologia endócrina, metabólica e da diabetes mellitus.
A Indústria Farmacêutica, deu um apoio indispensável, e apresentou novos medicamentos e meios auxiliares de diagnóstico.

Helped by an inventive and dynamic Scientific Committee (under the chairmanship of Professor Annamaria Colao), we have endeavored to build a modern and attractive program that will allow us to both grasp the most advanced developments in neuro-endocrinology, while discovering modern approaches to diseases that we encounter every day.
During the 6 plenary lectures and 42 planned conference symposia, we have chosen to link data from research and clinical applications. We wanted to get up- close to the clinician in preparing 16 meet-the-professor sessions on highly interesting current topics.
You are invited to submit your research work as abstracts for the meeting. Accepted abstracts will be published.
Your abstracts will be available on the website of the Congress from the first day of the Congress. The best oral and best poster communications (at the basic and clinical levels) will be awarded a prize.
Will be held from 22-24 October 2010 in Porto, Portugal.

The ESE Clinical Update Course is the first in an annual programme of international residential events providing essential training for all trainees and an update for established endocrinologists. The event is designed not only to give a vigorous update on current clinical practice but also to encourage networking between trainees and established endocrinologists.
